“Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la, la la la la!” Whether you’re the type of person who starts listening to holiday music the second there is a chill in the air, or you’re more of a Scrooge who could give a “bah humbug,” getting into the holiday spirit IS very important for your brand. This is true not only in a brick and mortar location but online as well. We have five tips for bringing a bit of holiday cheer to your landing page.

Tip 1: Deck out your homepage

Your website should reflect your brand, but make it festive. Add a little flair to your landing page with holiday graphics, changes in the colors on your website and whimsical fonts. Small animations (maybe blinking holiday lights or moving characters) or even a holiday video can also serve to draw in customers. However, you don’t need to make your website look like an elf threw a block party -- keep your updates true to your brand.

Tip 2: Don’t get stuck on red and green

Yes, red and green are popular hues for the end of the year, but that doesn’t make it the only holiday-appropriate color scheme. Not sure about an alternative? Try some cool colors that “feel” like winter -- think blues, purples and greens. You could also add in some sparkle using metallics, like silver and gold, which complement a cool color scheme nicely. Also, don’t feel like you need to revamp your brand’s entire color palette. Instead, maybe just add one or two elements to invoke some holiday charm.

Tip 3: Have some fun with your logo

Your logo is an important part of your brand identity. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t spice it up once in a while. Maybe update your logo to a holiday-inspired color. Alternatively, you could add a holiday-themed element to it, like holly, snow, candy canes, or whatever suits your fancy. It’s your time to be creative.

Tip 4: Feature sale countdowns

Have a sale planned? Get your customers pumped up for it! Add a countdown timer to your landing page to let visitors know exactly when your sale will go live. Using a timer will not only hype up your sale, but it also lets your customers know that, while you might not have a sale going on right now, you are gearing up to throw one soon. You could even add a form to your landing page to encourage people to sign up to receive an email when your sale goes live.

Tip 5: Get to the point

Your customers expect to see holiday sales when they visit your website. Don’t hide them! Feature your top sales front and center on your landing page. If you have an online store, make it easy for folks to add these items to their shopping carts, or make it simple for people to redeem your offers in stores. The sooner folks start shopping and adding items to their cart, the more likely they are to complete their purchase.
