Getting there

1. In the Campaign Builder, drag and drop the Field Widget into a Form Container.

2. In the pop-up, select Category from the Custom Field list.

3. Click Next to proceed.

Layout

Allow multiple selections

If entrants can select more than one category, check the Allow Multiple Selections box. Layout options include:

• List: Displays all categories; entrants click to select their choices.

• Checkboxes: Categories appear with checkboxes for selection.

• Tiles: Categories appear as tiles, which are suitable for adding images.

Note: When multiple categories are allowed, vote counts reflect the total votes across all selected categories for an entry.

Single-selection layout options

If multiple selections are not allowed, layout options include:

• Dropdown: A classic dropdown menu for single selection.

• Radio Buttons: Categories are displayed with radio buttons for selection.

• Tiles: Displays categories as tiles with image support.

• Text: A blank text field where entrants manually enter a category. (Case-sensitive when using Text Layout)

Text

Assign Labels or Prompts (for dropdown layouts only) in this section to guide entrants.

Validation

Select one of the following options:

• Always: Field is always mandatory.

• When Visible: Field is mandatory only when visible.

• Never: Field is not required.

Error messages

Customize error messages by entering your desired text in the appropriate fields.

Content

Define your categories in this section.

Input modes

Text Input Mode:

• Type each category on a separate line.

• Capitalization matters when using the Text Layout.

Prompted Input Mode:

• Enter choice text, add a value (e.g., monetary value for certain templates), and optionally add an image.

• Use the + icon to upload an image via the Media Library.

• Add a new choice with the Add Choice button.

• Delete choices with the trash can icon.

Default value

Select a default category or leave it blank to keep the field unselected initially.

Field points

Assign a point value to the field to award entrants additional points for completing this field.

Other

Instructions field

Add text to the Instructions field to display below the field when it is focused (selected).

CSS classes

Add custom CSS classes to the Extra CSS classes field for styling via the CSS Editor.

Visibility

Control field visibility by:

• Date and Time: Limit field visibility to a specific period.

• Pop-Up Display: Show the field as a pop-up.

• Builder Only: Limit field visibility to the Campaign Builder.

• Country Restrictions: Show the field only in specific countries.

Category field styling options

When the Widget is selected, you can customize the styling of the specific widget. Some of the options include changing the radio button color, the maximum width of the widget, font type, and widget alignment. You will see the following areas of styling available in the Style Panel:
