Entry Search Widget

The Entry Search Widget allows entrants to search through campaign entries using variables such as email or name. This eliminates the need to manually browse through each page, making it especially useful for campaigns with a large number of entries and campaigns with voting.

Adding the Entry Search Widget

To add the Entry Search Widget to your campaign:

  1. Click the Entry Search Widget icon in the Add Widgets Panel, or

  2. Drag the icon into your preview area.

Widget settings

The widget settings pop-up allows you to customize the Entry Search Widget.

Renaming the widget

  1. Click the pencil icon in the top-left corner (next to the widget name).

  2. Enter a new name and press Enter.

CSS ID

The CSS ID (starting with a #) is displayed in the top-right corner of the pop-up.

Customization

Navigate through the left-side menu to configure the widget. Use the Back and Next buttons to move between sections.

When finished, click the blue Save and Exit button.

Setup

The Setup section is where most of the Entry Search Widget configuration occurs.

Entry Display Widget connection

Use the Entry Display Widget to be searched dropdown to select the Entry Display Widget containing the entries you want to make searchable.

Searchable fields

In the Searchable fields area, check the boxes next to the fields that entrants can use to search.

For example, check the Email box to allow entrants to find entries by typing an email address.

Customizing the search field

Use the Input label field to add text that appears above the search field (e.g., "Search for an entry").

Use the Placeholder field to add text that appears inside the search field before a term is entered (e.g., "Enter name or email").

Visibility

Control when and where the widget appears using the Visibility section.
Options include:

  • Setting specific dates and times for visibility.

  • Displaying the widget only in the Builder.

  • Limiting visibility to certain countries.

Entry search styling options

When the Widget is selected, you can customize the styling of the specific widget. Some of the options include changing the background color, the maximum width of the widget, and widget alignment. You will see the following areas of styling available in the Style Panel:

  • Input Box

  • Widget
